The MIMICO ConExpo 2023 tour group of Rex Davies, Garth Taylor, Scott Welsh and Chris Gray recently attended ConExpo in Las Vegas. The trip provided an excellent opportunity to catch up with suppliers and a few customers. As always, with these events it’s also a great opportunity to see what new and potential products are coming to market.
MDS
MDS launched the revamped M515 Heavy Duty Trommel. The M515 is the flagship model in the MDS range and is ideal for Riprap production and rock reclamation from overburden. The updated model has been redesigned to include new features that will improve transportation, access, and stockpile heights.
The revamped MDS M515 was revealed at Conexpo.
Metso:Outotec
Following this we attended the launch of the new Metso:Outotec Nordberg® HPe Series™ of cone crushers. The world’s most popular modern cone crusher Nordberg® HP, is going through an evolution. Efficiency is the key to meet aggregates and mining industries needs such as maximum performance in throughput, reduction, or higher yield of certain aggregates fraction. The new Nordberg HPe range offers performance and uptime in a more sustainable way.
We also got to see a preview of the new Lokotrack EC range due for release in 2024. The Lokotrack EC range will be a major step change in operational cost efficiency and CO2 emissions reduction. This new range will feature a next-generation diesel-electric powerline.
Dynapac
Dynapac used this event to showcase their CC900 e & CC1000 s electric rollers and impressive product range. The electric rollers were launched in Bauma in 2022 and are complemented with a range of battery powered light compaction equipment. These units are the result of the Z.ERA program at Dynapac aimed towards an emission-free workspace.
These units are currently on market trial in Europe and not yet available in New Zealand. The product launch demonstrated the migration of Dynapac product engineering to meet the developing demand for electric construction equipment in the roading sector.
Superior Industries
Superior Industries launched several products at the event. Of particular interest to us was the Fusion modular platform, consisting of Guardian horizontal screen, and Aggredry fine material washer. Modular solutions provide producers a faster and more economical solution. They are designed to be scalable with a compact footprint, quicker lead and setup times.
Superior Industries also displayed the impressive 42” x 190’ Telestacker, that could not be missed against the Las Vegas skyline.
ConExpo was extremely large and spread out. This meant trying to see everything you wanted was almost impossible. It took us nearly an hour to walk between events at one point. However, we managed to see the majority suppliers we wanted to.
It wasn’t all work. We were privileged to be invited to a number of events hosted by our suppliers, which saw some customers joining us for the occasion. We would like to thank MDS, Mesto:Outotec, Superior Industries and Dynapac for inviting us to these events, and also the customers that managed to come along.
