Road Metals Rolleston Quarry.

Quarrying & Aggregate Production

Road Metals uses a conveyor-fed material handling system at its Rolleston quarry to move raw material from the face to the processing plant. A 1.1 km Superior conveyor and Telestacker replace multiple dump trucks, improving efficiency, reducing labour requirements and delivering consistent feed to the plant while supporting growing production demands.

Cardrona Alpine Resort.

Alpine Resort Earthworks & Infrastructure

Cardrona Alpine Resort uses a CASE CX235C SR excavator to support offseason earthworks and infrastructure projects. Work includes trenching for the Soho Stage Two snowmaking installation and reshaping ski trails to create smoother surfaces for winter operations. The machine’s short-radius design allows it to operate efficiently on narrow mountain tracks and tight areas, while still providing enough size and capability for larger earthworks tasks.

B&A Digging is a Queenstown-based earthworks contractor with nearly 20 years in operation. Their CASE CX19D compact excavator stands out for power, fuel efficiency and tight-access capability, making it a go-to machine across site pads and driveway work throughout Central Otago.

Owner-Operator Civil Contractor

Clyde Excavation upgraded to the CASE CX145C excavator to cut downtime with extended 500-hour servicing intervals. This change boosted productivity, reduced costs, and improved operator comfort. Impressed by these benefits, the company plans further expansion with additional CASE equipment.

Kaingaroa Roading Contractors, led by Jan Bolton, has been maintaining New Zealand’s forest roads for nearly four decades. Running a CASE 885B grader, CASE CX145 excavator, and Dynapac roller, Jan and her loyal crew combine experience, resilience, and trusted equipment to keep the industry moving.

Stevenson Aggregates – Tefsa Filter Press Installation.

First Tefsa Filter Press Installed in New Zealand

Stevenson Aggregates partnered with MIMICO to install New Zealand’s first Tefsa PEH-1500 filter press, significantly improving wash water treatment and recovery efficiency. The system now allows for up to 95% water recovery, producing a dry filter cake for easy handling.

Horokiwi Quarries Ltd – Wash Screen Replacement.

Weekend Screen Replacement Minimises Downtime

Horokiwi Quarries engaged MIMICO Engineering to design, manufacture, and install a new 6’ x 16’ wash screen with a replaceable Metso MV mechanism. The full installation was completed over a weekend, minimising production downtime while delivering a modern, efficient screening solution.

Christchurch Ready Mix Concrete – VSI Crusher Integration.

Barmac B7150SE VSI Integrated into Existing Plant

MIMICO worked with Christchurch Ready Mix Concrete to integrate a tertiary crushing stage into their existing plant layout, installing a Barmac B7150SE VSI crusher using full 3D design and precise plant modifications.

Horokiwi Quarries Ltd – 50m Conveyor Replacement.

New Conveyor Installed with Minimal Downtime

Horokiwi Quarries engaged MIMICO Engineering to design, manufacture, and install a new 50-metre transfer conveyor to replace an ageing system. The installation was completed over a weekend to minimise disruption, with the new conveyor custom-designed to integrate seamlessly into the existing plant layout.

Winstone Aggregates (Hunua) – Wash Plant Installation.

Superior Aggredry Installed to Support PAP Production

Winstone Aggregates engaged MIMICO Engineering to deliver a full wash plant solution at their Hunua Quarry. The project featured the installation of a Superior Industries 36” Aggredry fine material washer, with fully integrated structures and blending controls to optimise production.

Isaac Construction Company – Plant Expansion.

Four-Stage Static Plant Expansion

Isaac Construction partnered with MIMICO Engineering to deliver a major four-stage plant expansion, increasing aggregate production capacity to meet post-earthquake Christchurch development demands. The full static plant upgrade was completed over a 12-month period, providing additional output after each stage.

Horokiwi Quarries Ltd – Barmac VSI Relocation.

3D-Scanned Plant Relocation Delivered On Schedule

Horokiwi Quarries engaged MIMICO Engineering to relocate their Barmac B9600 VSI crusher while minimising site downtime. Using 3D scanning and point cloud modelling, MIMICO accurately integrated new plant components with the existing plant structure to ensure a smooth, efficient installation.

Graymont Lime – Fixed Scalping Screen Installation.

Primary Scalping Screen Installed for Efficient Limestone Processing

Graymont Lime engaged MIMICO Engineering to install a new fixed scalping screen at their Te Kuiti plant. The project involved the installation of a Svedala VFS 36/15 double deck screen, modular wear components, and custom chutes and conveyors, all fully integrated into the existing plant.

Horokiwi Quarries Ltd – Sand Wash Upgrade.

Superior Aggredry Installation Simplifies Sand Washing Circuit

Horokiwi Quarries partnered with MIMICO Engineering to upgrade their wash plant with the installation of a Superior Industries 36” Aggredry fine material washer. The new system replaced the existing bucket wheel dewaterer, improving sand quality, simplifying the circuit, and delivering a drier, more conveyable finished product.

Winstone Aggregates – Metso GP550 Cone Crusher Installation.

First Metso GP550 Installed in New Zealand

Winstone Aggregates partnered with MIMICO to replace their retired Sandvik H6000 cone crusher with New Zealand’s first Metso GP550 unit. The turnkey project included full design, fabrication, and installation — all completed on a tight timeline to minimise production downtime.

Winstone Aggregates (Otaika) – Plant Upgrade.

Plant Upgrade

This need led Winstone Aggregates to purchase a Metso C106 Jaw crusher and Metso TK11-42-2V grizzly feeder from MIMICO to maximise the output of their current plant. To minimise the installation costs MIMICO Engineering designed a new sub-frame to accept the existing feeder mounts and the new mounting requirements for the Metso C106 jaw crusher. This sub-frame was adapted to the existing frame in order to utilise the current subsidiary equipment such a chutes and conveyors.

Horokiwi Quarries Ltd – Low Profile Wash Screen.

Custom Wash Screen Designed to Fit Existing Plant Layout

Horokiwi Quarries partnered with MIMICO Engineering to design and install a low-profile wash screen to improve the processing of sealing chip. The solution was carefully engineered to work within the constraints of the existing plant layout, delivering a cost-effective upgrade without extensive modifications.

Horokiwi Quarries Ltd – Waste Water Treatment Upgrade.

LT-500 Lamella Clarifier Installed for Expanded Water Treatment Capacity

Horokiwi Quarries partnered with MIMICO Engineering to increase water treatment capacity at their site by installing a new LT-500 Lamella water clarifier. The upgrade was fully integrated with existing plant infrastructure using detailed 3D design, providing capacity for both current needs and future expansion.

Stevenson Aggregates (Drury) – Water Treatment Upgrade.

LT-500 Lamella System Installed to Support Plant Expansion

Stevenson Aggregates (Drury) worked with MIMICO to upgrade their water treatment capacity, replacing two existing LT-100 Lamella units with a single LT-500 clarifier. The new system supports increased storm water, truck wash, and process water volumes from the upgraded plant, while providing future capacity.

Stevenson Aggregates – Tauhei Quarry Primary Bin Upgrade.

Primary Bin Replacement Improves Safety & Production

Stevenson Aggregates partnered with MIMICO Engineering to replace the primary bin at Tauhei Quarry. The custom-designed bin resolved existing safety and production concerns, with full design, fabrication, and installation delivered on time and on budget.

Holcim Ltd – Kiwi Point Quarry Upgrade.

Turnkey Plant Upgrade to Improve Site Efficiency

Holcim partnered with MIMICO Engineering to complete a full plant upgrade at Kiwi Point Quarry. The project included a custom-built primary screen, crusher refurbishment, full conveyor supply, and 3D design integration - delivering a fully modernised processing plant.
