Daltons manufactures a wide range of landscaping and growing media products using pine bark sourced from mills across the North Island. The operation processes bark into landscaping products, nursery mixes and potting mixes supplied to commercial growers, garden centres and major retail chains throughout New Zealand.
The site operates a demanding production schedule involving screening, crushing, stockpile management and truck loading across multiple processing areas.
To support these operations, Daltons runs CASE wheel loaders across the site, including a CASE 1121 and CASE 921 handling production and bark plant duties.

The CASE wheel loaders are used throughout the production process for moving bark material, feeding processing plants, clearing tip heads, loading trucks and managing stockpiles.
The CASE 921 loader operates on the bark plant for up to 19 hours per day across split shifts, while the CASE 1121 is used across daily production operations, generally operating around 12 hours per day during the working week.

Daltons Production Supervisor Cameron, who has worked at the site for nearly 27 years, highlighted the importance of machine reliability and operator comfort within the operation’s long working hours.
