B&A Digging is a locally owned earthworks operation based in Queenstown, working across the wider Central Otago region including Wanaka. Operating for close to 20 years, the business was founded by long-time friends Brandon and Andy, whose initials still sit proudly in the company name.

With a fleet that ranges from compact excavators through to larger earthmoving equipment, BNA Digging undertakes a wide mix of residential and commercial earthworks, including site pads, driveways and general excavation work in tight and challenging locations.

Operations Manager Regan Pierce says the CASE CX19D has become a standout machine in their line-up, particularly for smaller jobs where access and efficiency matter.

“This machine was the pick for one of the jobs we had. Once I got behind the controls, it quickly became my pick of the smaller machines.”

According to Regan, the CX19D delivers strong performance for its size, with a good balance of power and manoeuvrability. The extendable and retractable undercarriage allows the machine to work confidently in narrow access areas, while still providing stability when opened up on site.

“The power, the manoeuvrability, and the fact it’s got extendable and retractable tracks to get you into tight spaces are big reasons why I rate it.”

Fuel efficiency was another key benefit noted, along with the boom linkage design, which Regan says contributes to smooth, controlled operation across a variety of tasks.

“It’s a very fuel-efficient machine, and that linkage on the boom is a big plus when you’re working all day.”

The only downside, according to Regan, is availability within the team.

“One of the negatives is trying to get it off the other guys. You’ve got to be quick if you want time on it.”

B&A Digging has worked closely with MIMICO over the years, and Regan credits the local team for ongoing support.

“MIMICO have most certainly looked after us. Daryl and the team are the go-to.”

With strong operator feedback and high demand across the crew, the CASE CX19D has proven itself as a reliable and capable compact excavator for BNA Digging’s day-to-day earthworks operations.
