Stevenson Aggregates provides a wide range of aggregate solutions for commercial, infrastructure, and residential projects across New Zealand. Their product range includes roading and drainage aggregates, sands, concrete materials, and specialised products for construction and landscaping.
To improve the efficiency of their wash water management, Stevenson sought a solution that would optimise both water recovery and sludge handling from their quarry wash process. MIMICO supplied and installed a complete filtration system featuring New Zealand’s first Tefsa PEH-1500 filter press.
Manufactured in Spain, Tefsa specialises in filtration equipment designed for maximum recovery and efficiency. Combined with a Lamella incline plate settler, the system allows Stevenson to process wash water while recovering up to 95% of the water used. The remaining solids are compacted into a dry, easily handled filter cake, greatly simplifying waste management and improving environmental outcomes on site.
This installation represents a significant step forward in wash plant water recovery for New Zealand quarrying operations.
