Horokiwi Quarries Ltd continues to supply high-quality aggregates across the Wellington region, producing a diverse range of products to meet the demands of the local construction sector. As part of ongoing site improvements, Horokiwi required a modern solution for processing sealing chip within their existing plant footprint.
MIMICO Engineering was engaged to deliver a wash screen that could integrate seamlessly with the fixed feed position from the scrubber and existing discharge conveyors. To overcome the spatial limitations, MIMICO designed a low-profile screen with reduced deck heights, allowing for efficient processing without the need for major structural changes.
The design utilised Metso LS modular screen media on both decks for superior wear life and easy maintenance. A top-mounted vibrating motor mechanism was incorporated to further minimise the overall height of the unit. For operator access, a pivoting spray bar assembly was also installed to simplify maintenance of the top deck media.
Project Highlights:
Custom low-profile wash screen design to fit existing plant constraints
Minimal modifications required to existing feed and discharge systems
Pivoting spray bar assembly for easier top deck maintenance
Metso LS modular screen media installed on both decks for extended wear life
Installed on a 5° incline to optimise material flow
By developing a tailored solution, MIMICO Engineering provided Horokiwi Quarries with an efficient, durable wash screen that enhanced processing capability while respecting the constraints of the site layout.
