Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd is a leading supplier of cement, aggregates, and ready-mixed concrete, with operations across the country and a history in the building industry dating back to 1888. As part of their long-term commitment to innovation, Holcim identified the need to upgrade their Kiwi Point Quarry to improve plant efficiency and extend operational life.
MIMICO Engineering was engaged to deliver a complete site upgrade, managing both design and build components of the project. Central to the upgrade was the manufacture and installation of a new 3600mm x 1500mm 3-deck primary screen, purpose-built to suit Kiwi Point’s specific processing requirements.
In addition, MIMICO refurbished Holcim’s existing Secondary El-Jay cone crusher plant to restore full operational capability, while also integrating a pre-existing Jaques screen into the updated plant design. This required the fabrication of a new support structure and associated chutes to tie the plant together.
MIMICO Engineering supplied and installed all transfer conveyors, product conveyors, and safety guarding, all manufactured to meet AS/NZS 4024 safety standards. The entire plant upgrade was modelled in 3D, ensuring seamless integration with existing equipment and minimising site disruption during installation.
