About the Customer
Horokiwi Quarries Ltd is a premier supplier of quality aggregates to the Wellington region from their quarry located off State Highway 2 between Petone and Wellington.
The quarry produces a wide range of products to ensure customer satisfaction and meet product specification. Products range from specialty sands for the concrete and asphalt industries, basecourse and sealing chip for roading, and builders mix and drainage metal for the home handyman.
Problem
Horokiwi Quarries needed an upgrade to their existing installation to increase water treatment capacity.
Solution
Horokiwi Quarries commissioned MIMICO to supply and install a LT-500 Lamella water clarifier.
This was the initial stage in an approach to also upgrade their sand washing process and the handling of waste water on site.
With an existing network of equipment for the holding of the sludge and clean water MIMICO Engineering accepted the challenge used 3D design to facilitate the full integration of the new LT-500 into the process.

MIMICO brought experience and expertise to this project, along with a level of trust built up over years of working with Horokiwi Quarries. Our history with Lamella water clarifiers allowed us to successfully install and commission a LT-500 unit.
