The South Island Agricultural Field Days, one of New Zealand’s oldest and largest agricultural events, kicked off on 29 March 2023 for three days in Kirwee just outside of Christchurch. It started with a surprise southerly blast that brought hail and rain on day one. Despite the unexpected winter weather, the event managed to attract about 7000 visitors braving the cold on the first day.
The clouds cleared up towards the afternoon on the second day, and families took advantage of the opportunity to attend the event. Those who did embrace the cold conditions and mud were met with a warm welcome at the MIMICO site, where we had a heater to warm up and a something to eat. Overall, the event was a lot quieter, but we believe that we spent quality time with new and old customers who made the time to visit our stand.
We’re excited to return next year and do it all over again, come rain or shine.
