This year’s AQA and IOQ conference took things to a whole new level. The Te Pae Convention Centre in Christchurch was an outstanding venue for the event. Event numbers were incredible, with over 700 attendees, a conference record.
MIMICO and other quarry industry suppliers filled the exhibition hall with their stands and people. The usual competitor banter was available as frenemies on the event circuit caught up with each other. Ultimately, it was a great place to meet with customers, contacts and friends from across the industry.
“Rex Davies was presented with the Citation Award by the Institute of Quarrying for his outstanding contribution to the industry.”
The event offered its usual high standard of speakers and seminars that it is known for. The lecture theatre was filled with quarryman from across the county.
The finale was the Friday night awards ceremony. Fulton Hogan Willowbank quarry won the MIMICO environment and community award and our own Rex Davies was presented with the Citation Award by the Institute of Quarrying for his outstanding contribution to the industry.
